La Mancha Workdays
Help SWEC to restore habitat along the Rio Grande by volunteering at our La Mancha Wetland project! Be prepared to get your hands dirty and maybe even spot beavers and herons that found a home in La Mancha Wetland.
There are few things more fulfilling than giving back to the environment. On this Saturday morning, you'll have a chance to get your hands dirty and help out at our La Mancha wetland project ridding the pond of invasives and improving trails. A fun activity for the whole family!
The world is depressing these days, but there's nothing more gratifying than getting your hands dirty and doing something concretely positive for nature. Come on out to La Mancha this Fall and help us create habitat for birds, fish, and mammals that depend on dwindling wetland ecosystems. We need help weeding, maintaining trails, trimming trees and cattails, installing tree fencing, and clearing debris from the pond. Make a difference in your community and check out wetland wildlife while you're at it!
Hang out with wildlife for a day at La Mancha wetland! We will be identifying fish, birds, and plants at our pond. Participate in a native plant scavenger hunt and compete in a bull frog catching contest! Have fun with the entire family while helping us gain useful scientific data about our restoration project.
