Education For a Sustainable Society
We believe lasting success depends upon public support for conservation efforts. Through our Education for a Sustainable Society Program, we seek to build that support by creating an informed and active constituency for biodiversity throughout the region.
Our popular Back by Noon outings program and our hiking guide--Day Hikes and Nature Walks in the Las Cruces—El Paso Area--have introduced thousands of people to the natural history of our area. We offer educational events and programs on a variety of topics throughout the year. Past programs have focused on Aldo Leopold and predators, solar energy for homeowners, public lands grazing, wetlands, and Mexican wolves, to name just a few.
Our educational efforts include our e-newsletter that we send almost every week to update our members on current issues impacting our area. Sign up for membership here!
