Karen Price of Las Cruces is an active member of the Southwest Environmental Center and has purchased tickets in the raffle for multiple years. This year, she bought 5 tickets.
2018 winner, Bill Bretz
After 10 years of trying, Bill Bretz finally got lucky. Bill and his wife Rebecca, both retired, moved to Las Cruces in 2005 and have bought tickets every year in our raffle since it started, back in 2008. This year they purchased two tickets and won a new Prius Prime plug-in hybrid.
2017 winner, Ruth Wheeler
Ruth Wheeler of Placitas, NM was the lucky winner in 2017. Ruth is a retired CPA from Ohio. She has lived in New Mexico since 2006. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, and worked for the Peace Corps as an administrator in Turkmenistan. She only bought one ticket.
2016 winner, Shirley Peroutka
Shirley retired to Las Cruces with her husband in 2015. One of the first things she did was go on one of SWEC's Back by Noon outings, became a member and bought a raffle ticket. When told she had won the car, she was thrilled, saying "I never win anything!" Guess she can't say that anymore.
2015 winner, Janine Divyak
Janine of Mesilla (NM) was the lucky winner in SWEC’s 2015 annual Toyota Prius raffle. She is a planner with Dona Ana County, making her the second county employee to win the raffle. She only purchased one ticket.
2014 winner, Harold Montgomery
Harry is a retired computer engineer who worked many years for McDonnell Douglas. He and his wife Ann, a retired mathematician and consultant, have lived in Las Cruces since 1993. Even though they already owned one Prius, they bought a raffle ticket each year because they like to support SWEC.
2013 winner, Yolanda Martinez
Yolanda and several coworkers at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum read about SWEC's raffle in the newspaper and thought it would be fun to enter. Yolanda was the only one who actually followed through and bought a ticket. This was her first year participating in SWEC's raffle. She only purchased one ticket.
2012 winner, Connie Welles
This was Connie's first year to participate in the drawing and she only bought one ticket. She works as a contract officer for Dona Ana County. Connie says she heard about the raffle through the newspaper.
2011 winner, Anne Marie Spiess
Anne Marie has been a SWEC member since 2009. This was the fourth year she purchased a Prius raffle ticket.
