As the weather warms up, are you looking for chances to get outside, meet people, and have fun? What if you could do all those things and help your community and the environment at the same time? Volunteers tabling for SWEC

Now until Friday, April 21: Help sell raffle tickets

We are raffling off a 2017 Prius as our Spring fundraiser, and we need help selling tickets! Come into the office and call previous years' ticket buyers. We will give you a phone and a script.

Time: M-F, 5-8pm
Location: SWEC office (275 N Main Street, Las Cruces)
Special requirements: comfortable on phone

Monday, April 10 - Saturday, April 15: Flyering for upcoming events

Help us advertise upcopming events! We will give you flyers, tape, and a list of locations in your city. We need people from all over southern New Mexico.

Time: any time during business hours
Locations: Las Cruces, El Paso, Deming, Silver City, Truth or Consequences, and Alamogordo.
Special requirements: a car

Saturday, April 15: BioBlitz and Tree Planting at La Mancha wetlands

A full morning of activities at our La Mancha wetlands restoration site. Plant cottonwoods and other native species and participate in a "BioBlitz" to identify all plant and animal species living at the site.

Time: 8am-noon
Location: Meet at SWEC office (275 N Main Street, Las Cruces), caravan to La Mancha
Special requirements: Come prepared to get muddy! Bring gloves, sun protection and water.

Beginning Monday, April 17: Bat house construction

We need one or two individuals experienced with power tools to assist our Youth Conservation Corps members in constructing bat houses for La Mancha, and to give a presentation on safety. We provide materials, tools, and bathouse designs.

Time: Any time M-Th, 8am-3pm, a few sessions beginning after April 17, to be scheduled as available
Location: SWEC office (275 N Main Street, Las Cruces)
Special requirements: experience with power tools and fabrication

Friday, April 21 & Saturday, April 22: Tabling at Earth Day events

This weekend has three big events we need to have a table at, which means we need volunteers to help run the tables! We provide all materials and training. Events are Doña Ana County Earth Day fair (Friday), Fort Bliss Outdoor Recreation Expo (Saturday), and Las Cruces Earth Day festival (Saturday).

Time: Friday, 8:30am-2pm; Saturday, 8:30am-3pm (two-hour blocks of time within these ranges)
Location: Friday, Doña Ana County Government Center (845 N Motel Blvd, Las Cruces); Saturday, Fort Bliss; Saturday, Downtown Plaza
Special requirements: enjoy talking to people

Saturday, April 29: People's Climate March

SWEC is organizing the People's Climate March in Las Cruces, and we have several volunteer needs, ranging from set-up and clean-up, running a water station, and acting as March Marshalls. All training provided.

Time: 8:30am-noon; Saturday
Location: SWEC office (275 N Main Street, Las Cruces)
Special requirements: on your feet for a few hours outside, calm under pressure
