Hearing on Bear and Cougar Rule this Thursday

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish wants to know what the public thinks about its rules for if and how bears and cougars should be hunted. To present information and collect public input, the Department is holding a meeting tomorrow night in Las Cruces.

On April 26, 2017, President Trump issued an executive order directing the Department of the Interior to conduct a review of all national monuments designated since 1996 -- including Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks. The intent behind this order is clear: to reduce or eliminate monuments to make way for more mining, logging, and extraction.

Over one hundred thousand people have signed up to participate in the People's Climate Marches, happening in over 300 cities nationwide, from Miami to Anchorage and everywhere in between. Southern New Mexicans and West Texans can find their nearest march in Las Cruces, at an event hosted by the Southwest Environmental Center.
