Send us your best shots for calendar photo contest!

The Southwest Environmental Center is putting together its first ever calendar for 2012 (move over Sierra Club!) and we need the help of our members to make sure we have the best photos possible, so we're holding a contest.

Here's how it works: Send us up to five (5) of your best color, landscape-formatted images of wild nature in the Southwest (plants, animals, close-ups, landscapes, etc.). Submitted images will be digitally published and should be of good quality (file size approx. 1MB).  If selected as a winner, images will need to be formatted to 11" x 8.5" for the calendar at approximately 240dpi.  Images will also be scaled for gallery display.

All images will be made available to the general public for voting on our website, Facebook page and elsewhere. The 12 images with the most votes, win!

Besides being featured in the calendar, top images will be matted and displayed in the Cottonwood Gallery during the months of December and January with a special reception for the winning photographers.

Deadline for submission is October 15th, 2011. Voting will take place between 10/16 and 11/01. Proceeds from calendar sales will go towards SWEC’s efforts work to protect wild nature in the Southwest. This is a great way to get your fabulous photos seen by hundreds and help support our work!
