SWEC seeking part-time Canvassers

The Southwest Environmental Center is looking for qualified individuals to do door to door canvassing. Professional canvassing is a widely used means of public education, fundraising, and organizing for social change organizations. Our Canvass educates the public about regional conservation issues, while getting petitions signed and acquiring donations. The funds raised by the canvass staff allow the organization to protect wildlife and wild places in the Southwest, while also enabling thousands of individuals to participate in our work.
o Public Advocacy Work
o Acquiring Signatures for local legislative issues
o A true commitment to the environment and conservation issues.
o Ability to easily speak with a diverse range of individuals.
o Prior canvassing (for fundraising, advocacy or otherwise) preferred but not required.
o Must have reliable transportation.
o $8.40 per hour, plus commission
o Canvassers will receive an iPad to use while working with SWEC.
